Flexibility Training - Neck

(hold all stretches for 10 seconds)
 

 

Flexors

Side Benders

Pull head straight back, keeping jaw and eyes level.
   

Slowly tilt head toward one shoulder.  Repeat toward other shoulder.
   

Side Benders

Extensors

Pull head to one side until stretch is felt.  Repeat to other side.
   

Bend head forward.  Return to starting position.
   

Extensors

Rotators

Pull head forward until stretch is felt.

Turn head slowly to look over one shoulder.  Repeat toward other shoulder.
   

Side Benders

 

Gently grasp side of head with one hand, placing the other hand behind back.  Tilt head away until a gentle stretch is felt.  Repeat to other side.
